What is Hydro Excavation
Hydro excavation or non-destructive digging is the safest form of locating underground assets.
It is a two part process, first involving the use of high pressure water to dig through the ground and expose the asset below the surface. We then use high volume suction vacuum to suck up the spoil into the tank, revealing the asset below.
Hydro excavation is best used to either pot-hole assets that have been electronically located or to expose non-metallic assets such as water, gas, sewer and storm water pipes.
Non-destructive digging is the safest form of digging when there are several known assets underground.
